Can a user auto-login to a Shopify store displayed using WebView from within a native iOS or Android

In a native iOS or Android app (no EC functionality) that we have already created, is it possible for a user to log in to a Shopify store that is displayed using an in-app browser (WebView).

Is it possible to enable the user to automatically log in to Shopify with some kind of signal issued by the app?

 The premise is that there is already a unique ID in the app's DB with existing user information (different from Shopify user information).

Shopify requires the unique ID to be entered in the Shopify meta field when a new member registers.

We would like to be able to match users in the app's DB with new Shopify members.
