Can external API connect to Shopify for bulk image upload?

Hi there,

I run a parts store with thousands of products. We have been given access to a (non-Shopify) system with all the photos of the products with access to them via an API.

Is it possible to connect an external API to Shopify to bulk upload images via SKU?
