Where does Shopify define the URL path to the shop customer account login page? 🤔
I get a lot of bot/spam attempts to login to my site as a customer, and/or create bogus accounts. They ALWAYS come in the door at the *.my-shopify.com/account/login URL, which I suspect 99% of Shopify sites have.
I'd like to change the URL for */account to be something like */my-account, primarily to block the bots. Is the URL to the /account tree (/account, /account/login, etc) defined in the theme or somewhere else in Shopify? Can it be edited?
NOTE: I'm not talking about the login URL for shop administrators, I'm talking about the customer login URL.
Many thanks.
Michael
The url route can not be changed. It's also not something the theme would have control over.
Hi Jason
Wondering if there any solution for this yet!!!
Hi,
dont know if you already found a solution. You can do this:
settings -> checkout and accounts -> tick the 'new customer accounts' under customer account settings
Then under customer account URLs, click manage domain for the new customer accounts and set up a subdomain by clicking 'connect existing domain' and put eg. 'account.YOURDOMAIN.com'
You would need access to your DNS to do this, as you need to create a cname record
Hi
But Still it doesnt change Login Page URL, domain name URL is there only after login into the customer account page.
Wondering if there any solution for this yet!!
