Hi, Can I backup my shopify store to my computer in case I don't make any sale and don't want to lose the work I have done? Without paying the $9 per month fee. Thanks.

That is a great question, and I can understand why you would want to know this, especially if you are putting a lot of time and effort into your store.
Just so you know, if you decide to walk away from your store or even close it down, your store's information is guaranteed for 2 years. If you change your mind within that time and decide to re-open the store, you simply need to log back in and select a new plan and everything should be as you left it.
By the sounds of it you are wondering if you can manually backup your store to your computer, so that no data is lost and you have access to it. That is certainly an option, and many things can indeed be backed up/downloaded to your computer. The main way this is done is by exporting CSV files from your Shopify admin. You can combine these CSV files with other data such as a copy of your theme to essentially create a backup of your store.
The following things can be exported as CSV files for backup or safe keeping:
You could also consider using an app from the Shopify App Store to help you create a backup of your store. There's a few to choose from which you can see here. Keep in mind that while my above solutions will be free, using an app may involve extra charges.
You mentioned 'in case you don't make any sales' in your original post. Is this something that you are concerned about at the moment? I would love to hear more about your current situation, and whether or not you have gone live with your store and are finding it difficult to make sales? Just so you know, we are always here to help so feel free to share some details and I'd be happy to steer you in the right direction.
