Can I deactivate a domain without reactivating the store?

I have deactivated my store long ago and traced a continuing payment of my domain. Is there anyway I can deactivate the domain without reactivating the store or go to someone to cancel the charges for me? Thank you.

Log in to your Shopify admin panel.

Go to Online Store > Domains.

Click on the domain you want to deactivate.

Under the "Auto-renew" section, uncheck the "Auto-renew this domain every year" box.

Click "Save."

I just happened to waste some more money on reopening the store. I do not see the auto-renew option. This might not be something I have access to as an admin. The original owner is gone, but the payments are linked to my account.

Then remove your card from the store....go to "Settings" > "Payments". You should see a list of your active payment gateways. Click on the payment method you want to remove. Look for an option to "Delete" or "Disable" the payment gateway.
