I have read through the AUP and restricted items list and have read that certain firearm parts, ie
magazine capable of accepting more than 10 rounds
go against the AUP. However, I have viewed multiple stores that are selling 30 round magazines through Shopify, while not shipping to the states where those magazines are restricted. I would like a clear cut answer on whether or not it would be acceptable for me to sell customized 30 round magazines, through Shopify, as long as I am not shipping to restricted states.
Hi, @kj426!
We wouldn't be able to say for certain what can or can't be sold through Shopify as this depends on many factors, including local laws. However, if something is listed in Shopify's restricted items list, I would not attempt to sell it through Shopify as anything listed there is prohibited. All that being said, for the most accurate answer on this it's best to confirm with independent legal counsel to ensure you're complying with all of Shopify's policies. If you come across stores you believe to be using Shopify, that are violating Shopify's policies, you can report this through the AUP violation form here.

A quick question regarding the Shopify's restricted items list, I understand firearm parts is included. what about something like a bolt action rifle stock/chassis which is non core part of firearm to shoot a bullet or something like scope, are they also restricted?
An example is like this: https://mdttac.ca/acc-chassis-system/, only a well made piece of metal to mount the rifle's core parts which are action/barrel/trigger. would this be allowed?
Hi, @somebodynobody.
We are not able to advise further about what can or can't be sold using Shopify beyond what's explained in the Shopify Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. Whether a product complies with Shopify's policies or not depends on a number of nuianced factors, including your local laws, so we aren't able to give you an accurate yes or no answer. For the most accurate advice on this I recommend speaking to independent legal counsel.
Happy to help if you have any other questions!
