Can I use a different email hosting for my domain other than Gsuite?

Hey there everyone,

I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to online thus far. 

I have a store with my domain on shopify, shopify doesn't do email hosting, I don't want to use gsuite email hosting because it is expensive in my opinion ($7.50/ per user); is it possible to/ how can I use another email hosting that is better than gsuite for my domain?

You can use Gmail or Zoho that’s all the options currently.

Email forwarding is a service that enables you to direct an email message that's sent to one email address to another email address. With your Shopify-managed domain, then you can set up an unlimited number of custom domain email addresses that forward to an email account hosted by a third-party. Question about Zoho,

If I go the Zoho route, can I sign into Gmail with my Zoho hosted email domain? Can I intergrate them?

I think I’ll use Zoho for email hosting, once I’m using Zoho, can I sign into my email through gmail or do I have to sign into another mail service like outlook or something?

Zoho says you can integrate with gmail.

just to be clear, all this is just for you to be able to respond to customers using your Shopify email address. If you don’t need that then you set up Shopify to send your emails to any email address and then you can reply to them from there. That is what @Greta was explaining to you.

Ok great. So Zoho can also be used like gmail or outlook. You can send and receive emails in there. You can also connect it to gmail.

I have a Microsoft 365 business account and I was wondering if I can use Outlook to host my Shopify emails (rather than Zoho Mail or Google Workspace). 
The email forwarding is OK to receive emails, but when we reply it doesn't show our Shopify domain name, so it can be confusing for the customer. 

Is there a way I can use Outlook for my Shopify domain email? I use it for other domain emails I have on some WordPress websites.

Thank you for your question. At this time, Zoho Mail and Google Workspace are the only options for email hosting with your Shopify domain. However, I do understand that being able to use your Outlook account with your Shopify domain would be beneficial in streamlining email communication for your business. I have gone ahead and submitted your feature request to add Outlook as an email host to our developers. Feedback like this is an important part of how we decide on what features to build and improve upon. I can't guarantee this change will be implemented, but if it is, it will be included in the Shopify Changelog. 

In the meantime, if you wanted to use your Outlook email account, you would need to transfer your domain away from Shopify, to a provider that supports Outlook email hosting.

Thank you Greta, that helps me understand why I couldn't set up Outlook for Shopify domain emails.

I hope Shopify looks into this. Outlook is one of the most used email providers and it would make perfect sense to offer this as an option for Shopify domain emails.
