Can I use Typescript instead of JavaScript in liquid files?

I am currently using JavaScript in liquid files such as in theme.liquid file.

Is it possible to use Typescript instead of JavaScript?

This is not possible in my opinion. You can just add JavaScript in liquid file and it will work in 2 ways:

- <script></script>
- {% javascript %}{% endjavascript %}

Bump, still not possible? I know TS must be compiled to JS anyway, but it would be great to use TS with Shopify.
