Hey @hkhan,

I'm sorry to hear you're encountering an issue with accessing your website at home. From the information you've shared, we can tell that it's a local network issue.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to fix the problem:

  • Restart your home router: Begin by power cycling your home router by unplugging it from the power source, waiting for about 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in. This can help refresh the network connection and potentially resolve any temporary issues.
  • Clear your browser cache: Sometimes, cached data on your browser can interfere with website access. Clear your browser cache and cookies or try accessing the website using a different web browser. This helps rule out browser-related issues that may be causing the problem.
  • Reset your network settings: Resetting your network settings on your device can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. On most devices, you can find this option in the settings under the "network" or "connections" section. Keep in mind that this will remove any saved WiFi passwords and network configurations, so you may need to set them up again.
  • Check router settings: Verify if any specific settings on your home router are causing the issue. Double-check if there are any firewall or security settings that might be blocking access to the Shopify website. You may need to consult your router's user manual or contact your internet service provider for guidance on modifying router settings.
  • Contact your internet service provider: If the issue persists, it may be worth reaching out to your internet service provider (ISP) for assistance. They can help troubleshoot and ensure that there are no specific restrictions or issues with your home WiFi network.

Let me know how you get on!

Hello @hkhan,

If you encounter an error message that says "Your connection needs to be verified" while attempting to access your Shopify store using your home WiFi, it suggests the possibility of a network problem or an issue with authentication. To address this, you can follow these troubleshooting steps.

* Stored cache or cookies can sometimes cause conflicts. Try clearing the cache and cookies in your browser's settings. If you're unsure how to do this, you can search online for instructions specific to your browser.

* Some browser extensions or add-ons can interfere with website access. Temporarily disable any extensions you have installed and try accessing your Shopify store again.

* Ensure that your home WiFi network does not have any specific restrictions or filters in place that could be blocking access to the Shopify store. Check your router settings or contact your internet service provider (ISP) for assistance with network configuration.

* Sometimes, restarting your device can resolve temporary network issues. Power off your device, wait a few seconds, and then power it back on before attempting to access your Shopify store again.

* If you're encountering the error message on one browser, try accessing your Shopify store using a different browser. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the browser you're using.

* Outdated browser versions can sometimes have compatibility issues with certain websites. Ensure that you have the latest version of your browser installed and try accessing your Shopify store again.

* If you're using a VPN or proxy service, try disabling it temporarily to see if it resolves the issue. VPNs and proxies can sometimes interfere with website access.

* If you suspect that your ISP might be blocking access to the Shopify store, reach out to their customer support and explain the issue. They can provide insights and help troubleshoot the problem.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to Shopify's support team directly. They have specialized knowledge and can assist you in diagnosing and resolving any issues specific to your Shopify store or account.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

That is ridiculous!  Noone should have to go through those steps at all when it is only on Shopify and not ever on the hundreds of websites I visit in the course of a week.
