Help please. I created a shopify account with an old email that no longer exists. As I have been inactive for 3 months, they send a security authentification to the email on file (which no longer exists). I have gone round and round in circles on the shopify site about logging in and getting help, but the bottom line is they continue to ask for the original email. Any ideas on what I can do to solve this? I want to get in and reactivate. Thank you...
Hey, @tonimaui!
Thanks for getting in touch, and I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble accessing your Shopify account due to an old email address. I'd be more than happy to help you out!
It looks like you haven't been able to reach out to our support to help you resolve this and have been going around in circles. Do you remember if you downloaded any recovery codes to your device? When activating two-step authentication, each user receives 10 recovery codes that are unique and can be used as an alternative method to log in to your account if the enabled methods are inaccessible.
You can check your downloads' folder for a file named: “shopify_recovery_codes” as you may have downloaded them when you set up the authentication.
If that route does not work for you, then please get in touch with our live support via these steps below:
Let me know how all that goes and if you still require any assistance.
