Hey, so I've encountered a problem where I want to change my theme from my theme library into an active theme. When I click on 'publish', nothing happens. The theme doesn't change into an active theme. Any suggestions?

Hi there, @LukasGoss! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community with your theme publishing situation here! My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!
We do have a couple local troubleshooting steps we like to try before we dive into some additional support steps! Can you try the following for me:
- Can you try using a different internet browser, and then see if you're able to do publish your theme from there?
- Can you also try restarting your internet router?
We suggest these steps as issues like this are usually local to the browser being used, instead of an admin issue! Give those steps a try, and let me know if you have any issues! -Imogen

Hey! Thank you soo much! I tried using a different internet browser and it worked!
Hey Imogen, I know this is an old thread, but I am going through this exact issue currently. I've cleared cache, cookies, switched from Chrome to Edge, restarted my computer, and I can't seem to find a fix.
Buttons are not really working for me, but only random ones. I can't rename themes, or create new page/product templates through customizing my theme. It randomly fixed a few days ago after restarting my computer, but I can't get a repeat unfortunately.
Just wanted to reach out and see if there might be any new information on the true root of the problem. Cheers, and thanks for any response!
Hey there, @LukasGoss and @Jacob_ByteTag!
@LukasGoss - Super happy to hear that the local troubleshooting steps did the trick to resolve this for you! Thanks for letting us know that did the trick!
@Jacob_ByteTag - Thanks for jumping in on this thread! When it comes to a 'root cause' for issues like these, the cause is almost always something local to the user, be it caused by their internet connection, saved cookies data in their browser, or their hardware. Based on what you've described here, it sounds like you've done many of our usual local troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue, but have had minimal success.
One thought I have here is that you may be accessing your account from a 'Staff' Account, and not from the 'Store Owner' Account. This would explain why some buttons seem to always be greyed out for you, as your staff account you're using may not have the required permissions to access those areas of your admin. This is just a thought, though! I'm not able to access your account data here on the Community, so I'm not privy to any of your account information.
What I want to recommend to you is that you take the time to reach out to our Authenticated Support Team via our Help Center and AI Assistant. They'll be able to access your account information, look into if you're viewing things from a staff account, and then assist you with some additional troubleshooting steps. If it turns out that our authenticated troubleshooting steps don't lead to a resolution, then they'll be able to escalate a support ticket up to our Internal Teams for them to investigate your account and determine if the 'root cause' is something deeper than just local.
