Re: I cannot upload any files to shopify

Can't upload files to my Shopify theme, any solutions?

I cannot upload files whilst editing theme or in the file section in settings. When I click upload files nothing happens. No message of error or anything to suggest what the problem might be. Please advise.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some assistance with uploading files to the Shopify admin, to ensure this gets resolved. To confirm I'm fully understanding, are you able to share an example of a file type (i.e JPEG, PNG, etc) and size you've attempted to upload to the Shopify admin without success? 

 

To provide some context, all files should be uploaded to the Files page of the Shopify admin and meet the following requirements: 

 

  • Maximum file size of 20MB (megabytes).
  • Maximum resolution of 20MP (megapixels). 
  • The aspect ratio is between 100:1 and 1:100. 
  • Acceptable file formats include JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, and GIF.

If however, the files you're attempting to upload meet the requirements stated above, I recommend you attempt the following local troubleshooting steps to see if this helps to resolve: 

 

  • Clear Cache and Cookies.
  • Access the shop from an Incognito Tab. 
  • Try using Another Browser (i.e Chrome, Firefox, or Safari). 
  • Try using Another Device (i.e Mobile device, Desktop, etc). 
  • Try uploading files from the Shopify App. 

 

If after attempting the steps outlined above the issue persists, please feel free to Contact Support. This will allow our advisor team to investigate further and ensure it gets resolved.

Hi Blair, I am experiencing the same thing. I tried uploading a file and I keep getting server error, I tried clear cache and using incognito and even using my mobile but still the same.  I attached the picture. Please help!
