Hey everyone. I recently created a new Instagram account and want to connect it with Shopify to be the primary one that my shopify shop displays on. I already removed my other account from shopify but I keep getting the following error, even after completely removing my other instagram account that I had previously used for my shop. I tried searching but cannot find an answer as to why it will not allow me to connect. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Hi there, @Loffredom
Welcome to the Shopify community. We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your question.
Based on the error message and screenshots you've shared, this falls under Account connection and permissions which is managed by Meta (Facebook.) I recommend contacting Meta Support directly so they can further investigate and ensure that the previous account has been removed.
When reaching out to Meta (Facebook) support, you can use the following link. Please be sure to include the screenshots you've shared here and that an account was previously connected but you removed it.
Once you've successfully connected your Instagram account to the Facebook Sales Channel, I recommend checking out the Shopify App Store if you're interested in displaying your Instagram content on your storefront. We have a variety of apps to choose from that display your Instagram product feed, stories etc. This can help drive traffic to your other social platforms and reach a larger audience.
I hope this helps!

Hi all,
I am also having the same issue where i cannot connect my instagram account to my business manager account. But i have the error which says account presence snd the button is blurred out. What can i do ?
I'm having this same problem - did you ever figure it out? I can't find a way to actually contact Meta for help.
I was having the same issue and I think I figured it out. The issue is that your Instagram account doesn't have enough history and activity. Instagram is very picky about their shop accounts and are attempting to prevent fraudulent shop accounts.
The only thing you can do at this point is just continue to be active on your instagram page and generate enough activity history for Instagram to allow you to activate your shop. I don't think there's any published data on how much history or activity this requires, so you'll just have to be patient.
Yeah, all you need to do is improve your presence in instagram. Official explanation page: https://help.instagram.com/1627591223954487/?helpref=uf_share
