Cannot delete a Menu Item from the Main Menu

I have the "Delete" option available in my Main Menu next the the Menu Items that I've added. However, when I click the "Delete" button, NOTHING happens. No errors in the console, no HTTP request fired, nothing at all.

It's pretty frustrating.

Any idea why I cannot delete these Menu Items?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some assistance with editing the shop's navigation, to ensure this gets resolved. 

 

To get started, I'd encourage you to confirm that you are following the steps outlined in our Adding, Removing, or Editing Menu Items documentation. It outlines that you can remove a menu item by completing the following:

 

  • From the Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Navigation. 
  • Click Delete beside the menu item that you want to remove.

  • Click Remove to confirm.

  • Click the Save menu butto in the top right hand corner. 

 

If you have reviewed these steps and the menu item is still appearing, I recommend attempting a few troubleshooting steps listed below to see if this helps to resolve. These steps include: 

 

  • Clear your Cache and Cookies.
  • Access the shop in an Incognito Tab. 
  • Try accessing the shop from Another Browser (i.e Chrome, Firefox, or Safari).
  • Try Another Device. 
  • Try accessing from the Shopify Mobile App. 
  • Try Restarting your device.
  • Make sure your device is Up To Date. 

 

If after attempting all of the steps outlined above, the issue persists, please Contact Us directly. This will allow for our advisor team to take a closer look as we don't have access to any account information through the Community.

  • Head over to our Support Page.
  • Log into your shop.
  • Select the topic 'Starting a store'.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to view all available support options.

Doing it from the Shopify Mobile App worked. I tried from a different browser, that didn't work. Like I said, no error in the console, and no HTTP request sent 🤷

Hilarious we have to use the app just to delete a menu item.

I temporarily disabled my VPN and it finally worked.  I think a VPN does weird things to certain sites (even Amazon and some news sites), so if anything weird is going on - turn your VPN off.
