Changing an IPS tag on domain purchased through Shopify

Can anyone tell me who can change the IPS tag on a domain I purchased through Shopify?

Long story short I purchased a domain through Shopify but it only allows you to point it at the home page. I need it to point to a sub-page.

If I can change the IPS tag I can transfer the domain to our ISP and then redirect it to the page I want.

Many thanks,

Trevor.

Phew!

Well that took a while but I think we've done it now.

After explaining the IPS tag is nothing to do with metafields and saying the magic words "Domain Release" we got it done.

Here's a little tip for anyone reading this.

The situation as I understand it is that if you buy a domain through Shopify then it can only ever point to the homepage of your site, great if that's all you want to do. However we wanted to point it at a sub-page and it won't let you do that.

You can do it if you transfer the domain to your ISP but firstly you have to wait 3 months from purchase (not sure why) then as I found you need to ask Shopify to change the IPS tag to the one your ISP gives you. Then you can transfer it to your ISP and do what you like with it.

All in all this has taken me around 6 months to sort. If I'd bought the domain through our ISP it would have been done in a matter of minutes.

Go on then, it's got me stumped!

All the instructions I can find say about transferring domains TO shopify, not away and that needs your ISP to change the IPS tag.

Who do I ask at Shopify?

It's CLOUDFIRE at the moment and needs to be EUKHOST.
