Checkout links without online store sales channel

Hi everyone, We have a problem in which shopify support cannot help us. We develop a CRM and created an app for shopify so you can export resources from CRM to Shopify. One of it's aspects is that inside one of CRM's modules you can Buy stuff you exported to Shopify.

We used: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/details/checkout-link and everything works well ond dev stores.

When we submitted the app to marketplace client complained that they need an online store sales channel for the link to work - I cannot reproduce that on my development store.

We didn't want to use Buy Button embeding because creating a link when rendering a website is easier than connecting through the API and SDK and in the resource page there is not a word that one needs online store sales channel for it to work

Do the checkout links require online store sales channel to be enabled?
