Checkout not functioning for some customers

Checkout is not working for some customers, they are getting error messages like "Checkout is unavailable".

 

Why have we heard nothing from shopify about this, every time I ask support there is no information given. 

If checkout is intermittently breaking, how can we even trust this platform to host our stores? 

 

Please shopify admins don't give advice about asking customers to clear their cache etc before ordering, we have tried all of that and it is still not functioning. Besides it is not possible to run a successful business by asking customers to clear all their browsers before they can attempt to order.

Do you have a ticket number related to this issue from the last time you connected with our support team? If yes, please share your ticket number with me here.

 

From the screenshots you shared it appears that this is affecting Shop Pay/Shop Pay Installments, is that correct?

37794348 and 37791120 are the ticket numbers.

 

The customer can't even reach the checkout page, it is when they click "buy". So I believe it is something wrong with shopify itself, not the payment processors necessarily.

I have investigated this further on my end and I can confirm yesterday there was an issue that affected checkout for some merchants that shouldn't have lasted for longer than an hour. This issue should be fully resolved now and not causing problems.

 

If you are still experiencing issues regarding this please reply back to your tickets you shared here to let them know and provide samples of your newest attempted orders that could not complete.
