I will be connecting my domain I purchased from a third party to my shopify store and I need some guidance

The instructions to connect manually are below:

Below is a screen shot of my domain provider:

For the record Type A do I enter the shopify IP address in the field preceded by 14400 www or in the field preceded with just 14400?

Should CNAME go in the field 14400 www  or just 14400?

Below are the current resource records settings. Should I delete everything here after entering the Type a and CNAME records above?

Hi there, @daved1234!

Thanks for sharing your query with us here in the Shopify Community.

I'd like to share some info on what we can and cannot advise on from here in Shopify.

We would always advise merchants to ensure they have one A record which is set to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65, and one CNAME record for the value 'www' that is set to 'shops.myshopify.com'.

Outside of this we would recommend the removal of any other A or CNAME records as they can interfere with the connection of your domain to Shopify and can affect the provision of your domain's security cert.

If you're unsure how this will work in the context of your third-party domain you would need to consult your domain provider's support team who will be able to confirm how their service works in this regard.

You can refer to our guide to connecting third-party domains manually here if you need to review this info or share it with your domain provider's support.

Let us know if you have any other questions about using Shopify we can help out with from here!
