Hi guys,
I have seen a similar question posted in 2020 but don't seem to find a resolution to the issue.
Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem which is that the contact number (mobile) we put on our website is changing to a different number, and the number is different on different devices, but all the different numbers do fortunately still redirect to us but it confuses people that in that they see different numbers on our website. To solve this I have had to place an image of our contact number, just to show the correct number.
When I check the custom HTML, the number coded is correct, when I check in the customize theme setting & look at the number from that view, it displays as captured BUT when I view the live site, the number is different.
The other issue with this is that this changed number also appears on Google which has some customers calling us by having to dial these strange 0860 numbers.
Anywhere where we enter our contact number, it changes - we have created a link to our contact page to show our contact number in png format just so that it doesn't change and show differently to our customers. We use the DAWN theme.
I have attached a screenshot of the front end (live view) and the customize theme section to show the above.
Has anyone been able to figure out what causes this to happen and how to solve the issue? How can we keep our number remaining as it is?
exact same issue, have you found a fix?
I have the same problem. Have you managed to solve it?
Hello! I am facing the same issue. Changed the phone number adding the country code but it continues changing in the header of my theme. Any other solutions? Thanks
Check if any analytics/tracking conversion scripts are added to the website. Those tools can change phone numbers to track conversion etc. https://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/141928/primary-phone-number-on-website-keeps-auto-cha...
Google ads - Call tracking shows dynamic numbers to new users to track phone calls - You can turn off call reporting on google ads >account settings and once the cache is empty, it should stop changing the numbers dynamically.
If you want to recreate the numbers changing, use a vpn, google search your business name - click google ad or search result and it should change the number as the tag manager sees you as a new user.
Same issue, no resolution. We re-route our old land line numbers to our internet based telephony. Is this common for everyone else?
