Hi,
I hope someone can help me - I'd like for customers to be able to purchase my products when out of stock. However, when enabling the 'continue selling when out of stock' button, this tells my Google sales channel to include these within my Google Shopping campaigns. I don't want to include these items in Google advertising, is there a way I can still sell on my store without the out of stock products being pushed to my merchant centre?
Thanks
Generally, 3rd party apps would look at the availability status, ie, in stock or out of stock.
Check if the products are out of stock in Google Merchant Center. If yes, then they are not advertised.
You can check by going to Google Merchant Center > Products > all products > click on a product > scroll to the bottom > view final attributes.
If 'continue selling when out of stock' is ticked, this will automatically make it in stock on google.
Is there a way around this?
I guess you need to edit your theme to allow for items to be sold if they are out of stock. I recommend asking a theme specialist for help regarding this.
But make sure whatever you do, that if you place them as in stock on the website, that its identical in Google Shopping. Same for out of stock items.
Hi Emmanuel. does having product items out of stock cause Google Mercahnt Centre to throw up errors such as misrepresentation? My account has been suspended and I think the out of stock items are causing the errors. They are out of stock but on order, how do I represent this in Shopify?
If the percentage of availability issues is above a certain percentage, yes, this can cause a suspension. Google requires accurate availability data on the website and submitted feed.
However as you are suspended, I recommend you check for all issues: https://community.shopify.com/c/Ecommerce-Marketing/Checklist-Suspended-Google-Merchant-Center-Accou...
