I recently acquired an online business which operates on Shopify store. Just a few days ago my store suddenly went down and a message was received from Shopify indicating an infringement in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and hence my site was taken offline, citing the lack of license for the Impulse theme that was being used. Upon checking the theme history I realized the same Impulse theme has been in use since 3 years ago.
I don't have any proof of purchase for the Impact theme unfortunately, but I can't stop wondering if it is even possible to publish the theme without paying for the license. Can anyone shed some light please? Shopify tech support team doesn't seem to be very helpful in answering my question in this case. Thank you!
