Creating a wholesale website, preventing people from seeing products and brands

Dear All,

I currently have an issue and i dont know how to fix it. I'm in the process of making a wholesale website.

What i want to do is

1. People can only see the website when logged in with an account
2. Accounts can not be automaticly approved. so
   1. Customer makes the account but i still need to approve it myself, or
   2. Customer contacts us, and i make the account manual

For issue 1. i did find an app called: "Login to Access Pages" which exactly fixes this. But customers can still make their own account and see everything.

How could i solve this ?

Did this question ever get handled? We are in a similar situation where we want to approve all users before gaining access.
