Custom Color Picker for Product

Hi Shopify Community,

first things first. I'm fairly new to shopify and my background is computer science.

I'm developing an online shop with the full Hydrogen stack from Shopify.

My question is, how can i add the option, that the customer can choose the color of his product.

And i don't mean from a pre set amount of colors. I mean that he can pick ANY color in the CMYK spectrum.

I know how to implement this in the frontend but how and where do i save this information in shopify, once the user orders the product?

In general, how can i add options to the product that the customer can choose, while this option not being

from a set amount of pre defined options?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
