When i click test on the google pixel in customer events there is no pixel helper on the screen and i don't know if it's working
Hi,
Hope this will help
- Check If Google Pixel Is Actually Installed
- Open Your Store in Incognito Mode
- Use Google’s Free Pixel Helper Tool
- Reload Your Website & Check the Pixel Helper
- If Pixel Still Not Showing , Use Google Tag Manager
Hello @oguzsanci35 Thanks for the context and screenshot,
Here’s a checklist and troubleshooting guide to help figure out why Google Pixel (Customer Events) testing isn't showing any activity on your serenauziyel.com Shopify store:
1. Pixel Installation Check
Double-check whether the Google Tag (Google Ads / GA4) is actually installed:
. Use Chrome extension: Tag Assistant Legacy
. Or use Google Tag Assistant (GA4) in your Google Events Manager > "Test Events"
If you don’t see any tags firing:
. Go to Shopify Admin → Settings > Customer events
. Look under “Pixels” – is the Google Pixel listed as “Active”?
. If not, re-add it under “Add pixel” > Google.
2. Use the Correct Test Environment
In Google Events Manager, use the “Test Events” tab:
. Enter your store URL (e.g., https://serenauziyel.com)
. Click "Open Site" from there
. Interact with the store (page views, add to cart, etc.)
. Events should appear live in the dashboard.
Make sure:
. You’re not blocking third-party cookies
. You disable browser extensions (like ad blockers or privacy blockers) during the test
3. Shopify Cookie Consent
If your store has GDPR/cookie banners, the Google Pixel won’t fire until the user consents.
To check:
. Visit your store in Incognito mode
. Accept cookies
. Then reload and test
If there’s no banner or cookies aren’t accepted, the pixel may be blocked from running.
4. Test Using Network Tab (Manual Method)
Open Dev Tools:
1. Right-click → Inspect
2. Go to Network tab
3. Filter by: collect, gtag, or event
4. Reload the site and interact
If Google Events are being triggered, you’ll see requests going to:
arduino..
https://www.google-analytics.com/g/collect
https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js
5. Double Installation Conflict
Make sure you're not double-installing Google tags manually in:
. theme.liquid files
. Google Tag Manager and Shopify Pixels at the same time
This can cause conflicts, preventing event tracking from firing correctly.
6. Use Google’s DebugView (for GA4)
If you’re using Google Analytics 4, enable DebugView:
. Go to Admin > DebugView
. Open your site with Google Tag Assistant enabled
. Check if events show in real time
If You Still Don’t See Events:
Please share:
. Screenshot of your Customer Events setup in Shopify
. Whether you’re using GA4, GTM, or just Shopify’s native pixel
. Whether your site uses a cookie banner (and what kind)
. Any custom scripts you may have added
Thank you 😊
