Hi there, hopefully this is a simple fix. Current behaviour is:
User must set 'Availability' to 'In stock' and then 'Shoe size' will correctly filter down to what size variations are available of each shoe. Unfortunately, user doesn't always realise this (through no fault of their own, as this is not a good user experience) and user will get frustrated at our otherwise great website (if they don't select 'In stock' first, the filter simply displays the maximum number of products for each variation even if they aren't in stock - which makes sense from a logic point of view, but not from a functionality point of view).
Therefore, the ideal behaviour is for 'Availability' to not be a factor at all, and for 'Shoe size' to be the only filter there (provided it works correctly). Or, as an alternative, at least make 'In Stock' to be selected by default.
Shoe size is connected to a meta field.
Can this be achieved without paying extra for a big fancy filter app for this single feature?
Hello @MaherMarketing
Welcome to Shopify Community.
Yes, it is possible to by default show the 'In stock' selected or first user selects 'In stock' but not possible without touch of liquid and JS. Thus I would highly recommend you to seek help of a developer to setup this at a reasonable cost.
Let me know if you need one.
Thanks
