Right now our order confirmation email sends before our subscription app has time to apply the correct delivery date tags for the order.
Is there any way to delay the Shopify order confrimation email by even 10 seconds? Or is it possible to add the Order Confirmation email to trigger at the end of a specific Shopify Flow?
This seems like an oversight on Shopify's part as so much of the appeal of Shopify is app integration. I imagine many users have apps that tag orders and they would like some of those tags to be included in the email to the customer.
Has anyone found a workaround? It is my understanding that the order confirmation email can't even be turned off in order for another app like Klaviyo to send it instead.
I don't think there's a way to disable the order notification email, or delay it.
So I think your best move would be to present the information to the customer in a different way. Put the data in the next email (fulfillment email maybe).
There's an order edited email, not sure if that one would apply to your situation.
Another idea, if the subscription app is creating the order, then ask them to have the data already in the order at the time of creation.
Another approach, consider your workflow of having all the data that the customer should receive being in the order at the time it's placed, and find another way to relay the additional data to the customer, for example, include a link to their order details page maybe and show the information there?
Just kicking ideas, hard to set a firm solution without knowing the reasoning and workflow.
It's only possible to disable the default order confirmation email if you're on plus:

Not any way to delay it either as far as I'm aware.
Aww yes, nothing like a $3,000/month paywall to keep the good features away from the peasants 😂.
Thanks Kalen! I was afraid this would be the case.
