Why does Shopify create duplicate product pages and its impact on SEO?

I have a question about duplicate pages in Shopify. We have product pages like https://de.amazfit.com/products/amazfit-band-5. That is normal and no issue.

But when I enter the product from the collection page like https://de.amazfit.com/collections/smart-watch. The website will lead me to https://de.amazfit.com/collections/smart-watch/products/amazfit-band-5 which has 100% the same content as https://de.amazfit.com/products/amazfit-band-5.

That's not good for SEO since google will crawl both pages.

Good Afternoon Simon,

Your Shopify theme is using canonical urls which uses the /product/ url as the default URL. This keeps Google happy and does not cause any duplicate content issues.

Here is a bit more info from shopify: Canonical Urls

Thank You,
Justin.
