Dynamic “best selling” & “trending” product badges based on views and sales

Id like to setup dynamic product badges that show up automatically based on certain conditions, specifically based on product views and/or sales.

id like to have best selling or trending badges on my products when their page views or sales reach thresholds.

ive seen some custom product badge apps out there but havent found one that offers what i am looking for.

I would like to avoid having to manually set tags on products for these badges to appear.

any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @moviemoments 

This can be done via app only either custom or public.

APP will record visit count for every product based on that product will be marked trending.

For bestselling you can use flow APP to configure it.

Let me know if interested in developing the same.

Sorry, I'm not aware of this kind of listed app.

However we can surely build this app or you can follow a different static approach.

Like you can create two metafield at product level for trending and bestselling respectively.

Now add the code at theme to show the label on product.

This will let you choose the popular and trending based on your interest.

For getting the real information of most visited product you can use Google analytics and Shopify admin also shares the most ordered products in admin.

I'm not sure that there is a way to access shopify product views from the API but if that's available we could use it, or you we could also do it using a 3rd party like segment.io.
