This message popped up and won't let me use my account to accept payments. I'm new to Shopify and need to get my store up and running. The problem it says that there is is that my EIN number cannot be verified. I recently started this LLC in order to dropship through Shopify. The EIN is correct I've been on the phone with the IRS and they have confirmed that it is indeed correct.

Hi @Exchangellc, welcome to the Shopify Community.

Thank you for reaching out to us about this. I just want to make sure you have submitted the other required information for verification. Did you enter your SSN also? If not, your EIN number will not verify without the SSN also verified. If you have submitted both required information, please contact our support team directly so they can look into this for you. Write "advisor" in the chat, and follow the prompts to be added to our support queue.

I did enter the SSN along with it, and I am on the help page talking with Jeff as we speak.

I'm in the same boat as you, and it's been incredibly frustrating and disheartening. My account has been frozen for 8 days now, and during this time, I've been completely unable to conduct any business. I've invested so much time, effort, and money into building my business on Shopify, and to feel abandoned like this is just devastating.

I've reached out to support multiple times through chat, but without phone support, it's been impossible to get any real answers. Every "Advisor" has told me the same thing: either "Shopify's Team is working on it," or that they've "left a message with the team." But what does that even mean? If our EIN numbers are frozen, I would expect someone to reach out to request the necessary documents for verification. How can the team be working on it if they don't have our legal documents?

I'm at a total loss. I don't know what else to do, and it's getting to the point where I have to seriously consider closing my business or switching to another platform. It's heartbreaking because I've always trusted and relied on Shopify, and I've never had any issues before this. But this experience has left me feeling desperate and uncertain about the future of my business.

Has anyone found a solution or have any advice on how to handle this situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I requested help on August 5th and was told someone would be reaching out. I didn't hear from anyone. I keep asking for help but I am told to wait. I started building my store in June and was hoping to open this month but I'm told I can't open it'll this is resolved. Disheartening is the perfect word. Has anyone been helped?

It took about 12 days for my issue to be resolved. I recommend reaching out to someone on the Help Chat daily. In the beginning, I received conflicting responses from different support agents, but once I started hearing consistent information, I knew the issue was truly being addressed. Initially, I was told the team was already working on it, only to find out five days later that no one had even started, and a new agent had to escalate the matter personally. It was frustrating and time-consuming, with a lot of back-and-forth. If your situation is similar, and you're losing significant revenue like I was (around $1,000+ a day in potential sales), make sure to clearly communicate the financial impact you're facing. It may help expedite the process. Stay persistent!
