Email all purchasers with an installation video. From Shopify, ideally. NOT marketing.

Hi all - I've noticed from photos sent by my customers that many of them are installing my product wrong. My photographer just delivered an installation video that I think would be very helpful. How do I send this (at once) (in Shopify) to all customers who have purchased the product?

I have tried selecting the segment called "Customers who have purchased at least once" and creating an "Email" in Shopify's email flow, but by the time I get to composing the email, Shopify has filtered out customers who have not opted in to marketing.

To be clear, this is not marketing, it is purely a PSA for installing the product correctly.

I am 99% sure this can be done because I get similar "how to" emails for items that I have purchased, where I did not opt into marketing.

To send the installation video to all customers who purchased the product, you can use Shopify's Order Status Page or Shopify Flow (if you're on a plan that supports it). In Shopify Flow, you can create a custom workflow that triggers an email to be sent to customers who purchased a specific product, without requiring them to opt into marketing. Alternatively, you could use an app like Klaviyo or Omnisend to send transactional emails with the video link, as these allow you to send one-off messages without relying on marketing opt-ins.

Since Shopify Email excludes non-marketing subscribers, here are a few recommendations:

1. Use Shopify Flow (if on Shopify Plus) – You can set up an automation to trigger an email after purchase with the installation video.
2. Transactional Email Apps – Apps like Klaviyo or Omnisend allow you to send post-purchase instructional emails without marketing restrictions.
3. Edit Order Confirmation Email – Go to Settings > Notifications > Order Confirmation and add the video link or embed it in the template. This way, every customer automatically receives it after purchasing.
4. Manually Export & Email – Export customer emails from Orders > Export and send the video through your email provider (like Gmail or Outlook).
