Hello, I'm trying to get my shopify payment, they ask me to fill my tax details with my EIN, SSN etc.
The problem is that my LLC is owned by me (a foreigner citizen to the US) so I don't know what to do, I have everything, every papers, even an american bank account for tax purposes but still I get an error with "try again later" but I keep getting this error.
Attached a screenshot.
Hi there, @Abstractw!
Thank you for your post, I'm happy to share some information with you.
Typically, when you open a US Shopify Payments account, you are required to provide all 9 digits of your SSN as verification. There is no way to bypass this step on sign up, which is why you were receiving those errors. Merchants can refer to the US Shopify Payment Terms of Service: Section B-3 for any legal related inquiries surrounding this topic.
If you don't have a personal tax ID from the US, you aren't able to apply for a Shopify Payments account through the admin, but you may be eligible for a manual review. In order to be eligible, you need to confirm that you have all of these documents:
If you can confirm that you meet all these requirements and have the documentation available, you can create a support request through the Help Center to get that process started. When you connect with one of our Support Advisors (through email, live chat, or callback) you can let them know that you want to apply for a US Shopify Payments bank account but don't have a personal tax ID in the States, and they will escalate your request to our tax team. Please only share these tax/business documents with our tax team when requested, to ensure the security of your information.
I hope this helps, and please let me know if you'd like any further clarification.

I am getting the same error. I’ve been trying for days on my phone and on my laptop. When I enter my social and select Individual/sole proprietor option, hit submit, it loads and doesn’t go through. I’ve made my first sale and not sure if I will receive payout because of this. Please advise.
