Extra columns in Customer and Order tables

Hi,

We are migrating our store from Magento to Shopify.

I've noticed that there is no option in Shopify to add some extra columns in the customer and order tables. We have some information from our internal ERP system that we would like to copy into the respective fields in shopify (in orders and customers table). This column need to show up in the CSV files when doing exports too.

I've already looked into default options and third party apps but couldn't find any solutions.

Any masters out here who can guide me in the right direction?

Hey there @kklip ,

For adding additional fields in Shopify, you can use Metafields here.  The Shopify Admin currently doesn't support bulk import of Metafields data via CSV, though, so you might want to search the app store for metafields apps that support bulk import if you have a lot of records to update.

On the data export side, our app EZ Exporter can help with this.  The app allows you to create custom CSV and Excel exports.  You can select the fields you'd like to include, rename columns, and also re-order columns.  Exporting metafields data is supported as well.

We also support more advanced features such as creating custom calculated fields where you can use formulas/conditional logic to manipulate the data further on export.
