I have created an account and property in GA4 but when I want to link it in Shopify, it does not show that the property exists. What am I missing?
Hi @martiej
The error says - mailmartiej@gmail.com don't have access to a GA4 property. To be able to have the property show up - mailmartiej@gmail.com needs to have admin access to GA4. When that happens, there should be a drop-down that allows you to select that property to connect Shopify with GA4.
Best,
Clarice
My Shopify account is mailmartiej@gmail.com and my Google account is mailmartie@gmail.com. Google is not allowing me to change my Google account email, and I cannot change my Shopify email as that is my Shopify admin/ account/ client address. How do I overcome this?
Give admin access to mailmartiej@gmail.com in your GA4 settings. With admin privileges, that should allow you to connect to GA4 in Shopify.
I had the same problem. After scratching my head for hours I was finally able to resolve the issue. Here's how;
I use a chrome browser on a desktop that I also use for personal stuff. Unbeknownst to me, my chrome browser was still signed into my personal email account while I was setting up my Google analytics on Shopify. So it used my personal email instead of my business email address.
Change email address to resolve: Go to your Google Analytics page, under Admin > Account > Account access management - Make sure you have the right email listed there. If not go ahead and add it as Administrator. Delete any other email that's not supposed to be there.
Also I went under "My preferences" > Edit user settings - and changed email address there too (You will be redirected to your default google setting in your chrome browser).
After doing this I went back to my Shopify Analytics setup, refreshed the page and Voila! there it was. Hope this saves someone the headache.
I am having this same issue, but the same email is being used for Shopify and GA4, and my GA4 has admin access. Any luck???
I had the same issue. What worked for me was to delete my existing property on my Google Analytics page and create a new one. When I did that, it worked for some reason
I Know this is late but this is for the people who face this lately
