Google Analytics Add to Cart Goal

Hello! I am trying to set up a Google Analytics Add to Cart Goal and can't quite figure it out. I use the Impulse theme and my shopping card pops out from the side when someone ads to it so a goal with a destination page does not work. I'm thinking I need to use an event but can't figure out how to get that working. Has anyone had any success with this?
