google Domain no longer connects. Forwarding link that shopify supplies does not connect

My googled domain stopped connecting.  I noticed that the forwarding address that Shopify gives me to forward to also no longer works.     How do I contact shopify customer support?  Or is there do they not supply support and  I just have to go back to wix?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm happy to provide some assistance with connecting a third-party domain to the shop, to ensure this gets resolved. To confirm I'm fully understanding, are you receiving an error when attempting to connect the domain to the shop?

 

If so, you will want to confirm the domains DNS Records are correctly pointing towards Shopify. This is required for third-party domains to successfully connect to the shop. To learn more, you can check out our Connecting Third-Party Domains helpdoc as it touches on this further. 

 

To update the DNS Records, you can:

 

  • Head to your domain provider’s website and log in to your account.
  • Find the DNS settings or domain management area.
  • Change the following records:
    1. Point the A record to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65.
    2. If necessary, change the Host name to the @ symbol.
    3. Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
    4. Point the CNAME record with the name www to shops.myshopify.com.
  • Save your changes.

 

If you are having some trouble locating your DNS Records within Google, I recommend contacting them directly. Their support team will be able to provide further assistance with ensuring these records are successfully updated. For ease, you can access their support here. I was however, able to locate this helpdoc that outlines where you can find your DNS Records. 

 

In the case your DNS Records are correctly pointing towards Shopify and you continue to receive an error, please feel free to connect with us directly.
