Hello
I am working on trying to fix errors with my Page indexing on my Google Search Console.
I am currently looking at the - "Alternate page with proper canonical tag" errors as there are lots for my site.
I have attached a screenshot of what I can see when I click through on google search.
Can anyone help me resolve this issue so that the page can be indexed and therefore seen on Google?
Many thanks,
Corinne
Hi @Corinne33 this is not an issue. In the screenshot you provided, it shows that you the ice cream apron is accessable via /products and from the collection page. this is why canonicals exist, to avoid duplicate content if the same page has multiple urls.
Thank you for your help.
Can you advice on another error....Not found (404).
I seem to have a lot of these but the majority of them are for products I have either removed from my site or are currently in draft form. Is there anything I should do to get Google to re run the indexing so less errors appear?
Secondly there are some for products that are on my site - screenshot attached. Is there a way of fixing the Page Fetch fail?
Many thanks,
C
The URL you inspected is coming from the Shopify web-pixel-manager and most probably it was generated with JS.
The inspected URL is wrong and different from the correct Shopify route. It's normal not be available on Google.
You will have to inspect the URL again with the correct URL:

HI. To answer your questions:
1. Old products that you removed or deleted should be redirected to the most relevant product or collection. You should do this regularly to avoid 404's. Redirects is in your navigation backend of shopify.
2. For wpm urls, there is nothing you can do. This was an issue on shopify site awhile back and they have fixed their side but you still might have these urls.
