Liquid, JavaScript, themes, sales channels
Has anyone had issues the past week with google shopping ads. My new items are being rejected for "Processing Failed [image link]". This is a new issue, my procedures and photos haven't changed. Thanks for any input
I did find this article dated yesterday. It seems Shopify needs to contact Google. I will post this here then go to the app to report also. Thank you for any input
Hello
We had the same problem yesterday and to solve it we changed the size of the image to 600x in our liquid code (our feed is generated by liquid code)😞
before change: <g:image_link>{{ variant | img_url : ''| prepend: "https:" }}</g:image_link>
After change: <g:image_link>{{ variant | img_url : '600x'| prepend: "https:" }}</g:image_link>
So our image url have this format https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/path_to_image/name_image_600x.jpg?v=1579772097
our problem was solved by this change
Hi,
we had the same problem and changing from 590x to 600x seems to have done the trick...
Thanks but I tried to change it and I am not clear on how to do so. I have changed thing in liquid before but I am a novice. Where on earth in the liquid to I find that particular line. Shopify has answered my inquiry but they were less than helpful just telling me to wait. That is not really what I think the solution is. If anyone can point me to where to change that I am pretty sure you are right. Thanks
I guess what I am asking once you get to the liquid code page where is that line? I search and search and do not find it
Hello,
What's your method to generate the XML feed, a third party plugin? or a custom liquid code? In our case we developed a custom page template that generate a xml Feed for google shopping so the liquid code is in our custom file.
Thanks, that is the problem is the Shopify plug in. Now to convince Shopify the problem is on their end. Thanks for everyone's input.
Where in the files do you find this?
@pammy543 Things have changed since this time. What error message are you getting? Sometimes the image will fail if it is low resolution.
Your size is fine. Are by chance the products White or other low contrasting color? I quit trying to post white items to Google. You can sometimes force it to recrawl by updating tags or slightly changing the google fields for that product.
There is a white background, but it is a black and green mug with a lot of contrast and it is a very clear photo.
So go to your app page and there will be a button by the google app to contact support for that app. See if you can get a resolution working with them. I was able to take care of all of my issues by that method. It is not instantaneous but they will get back with you.
