Google will not fetch my sitemap. I've tried everything.

Can someone assist here?  Google continually says they cannot fetch my sitemap, and Shopify is saying there are no errors with the sitemap.  URL inspection says my main page is indexed and it was able to be crawled, but the sitemaps status section still reads "couldn't fetch".  

My main end goal here is to get my products to show up in Google Shopping searches.  Can anyone assist me with this please?

1. Double-check your sitemap URL: Shopify auto-generates – ensure you’re submitting this exact URL to Google, not a custom one.
2. Temporary Google glitch: Sometimes it takes days for Google to recognize fixes. Re-submit the sitemap in Search Console and click “Test Live URL” to force a re-crawl.
3. Robots.txt conflicts: Check if your robots.txt (via Shopify’s Online Store > Edit Code) is accidentally blocking the sitemap. Look for Disallow and remove it.
4. Google Shopping ≠ Organic Search: Even if products aren’t indexed, prioritize Google Merchant Center for Shopping ads. Ensure your product feed is synced correctly (via Shopify’s Google Channel app).
