Many of our products have 17 digit UPCs, like the one shown here, but the barcode scanner (camera) built in to the POS system does not recognize these. When editing products on the Shopify app, we would scan them, and it would at least bring up a group of items to choose from, but under the POS App, it will just say "barcode not found". Does anyone know if there is a way to change settings on the scanner to include longer barcodes?
Did you find a solution to this? We also have a lot of print products that have the +5 extension to the UPC. We usually have to configure scanners to accept EAN 5 digit add-on and UPC-A 5 digit add-on but can't find a way to do that with the Socket scanner. (Look like you might be a comic book store also? 🙂 )
We have encountered the same problem on another pos system that would not accept more than 12 digits. It seems to be norm across the board.
And yes we are a comic shop
