How can I allow customers to personalize items with their names?

How can i add a variant so that my customers can put their name in for custom items I'm selling?

For reference, I'm selling a dried floral mirror - I'm wanting customers to be able to personalize the item by adding their names if they are wanting too.

Hi, I have tried this multiple times and it doesn't work. I am using the Spotlight theme on shopify so not sure if that's why?

Any other codes that would work would be amazing.

this is the basic code for properties and all themes support this. Maybe you missing something or placing the code in the wrong place.

i have had a look and have nothing that says "product_template.liquid"

I have gone throw every code that starts with "product" and used Cntrl + F to find "Add to cart" to place the link above but nothing comes up

In few template product file named with main-product.liquid

And checkout button comes under buy-buttons.liquid
