It seems based on my googling that the only way to change my single-column drop down menu on my online store into a multi-column menu is to add specific lines of code. It feels silly that the theme I'm using, Expanse, demonstrates on all three of its demo stores a multi column drop down menu when that option doesn't exist. It seemed when I purchased the theme that that would be the default style for drop down menus. Why couldn't there be a menu item when customizing theme that say "wrap drop down menus into columns". I'm not a coder, but it doesn't seem like an insanely complex request.
oh sorry for that issue can you please send store url so i will check and let you know
bannershallmark.com. Thanks! I chatted with support who explained that if you create subcategories, the multiple columns will be created automatically. This mostly solves my problem, though I didn't intend to use subcategories for one of my dropdown menus, and using them is the only way I can create multiple columns.
