How can I code conditional product variants for specific sizes in Dawn 7.0 theme?

I have the Dawn 7.0 theme. I am trying to set a product with an if/then variable. I have a product that has 3 main variants (lets say A, B & C) Each of these variants has different sizes specific to them. So if you choose Variant A I need it to direct customers to the sizes associated to A. If customers choose B it directs to the variants associated to B. 

I have tried to add a metafield to do this but it didn't work the way I wanted to.

I'm completely code illiterate. Can someone walk me step by step on how to add the code to allow my product to do this? or better yet does anyone have a step by step video tutorial I can follow along with?
