How can I completely detach my personal domain from Shopify?

I linked my personal domain with shopify, but then realised that my former WP had disappeared. Now I need to unhook my domain from shopify but only managed to set it to redirect. It is still linked to shopify. How do I completely detach my domain?

I'd like to check a couple of things out with you here, so we can get you pointed in the right direction.

You mentioned you had added your own domain to Shopify, I presume this is an existing, third-party domain you had purchased from an external registrar?

If so, did you connect that domain to point at your Shopify store, or did you transfer that domain to be hosted by Shopify?

In the first case, your domain would remain hosted by your third-party provider whereas, in the latter, your domain would now be hosted by Shopify instead.

Let me know what you'd like to be able to do exactly; if you're looking to transfer your domain away from Shopify, or something else entirely!

Are you getting a store set up using Shopify for the first time, or have you been selling for a while already?
