How can I create a 'Remember me' functionality for longer user sessions?

Hi!
For the Shopify store, we need to create a functionality that allows users to do not login each time but use ‘Remember me’ checkbox during login.
On the majority of the sites, it works via cookies which requires back-end work. Our question is, if it is possible to create ‘Remember me’ functionality in some way? Please advise if we should use cookies or something else
We could not find this info in Shopify documentation.
We could find that Shopify can remember user session just for a short period of time (around 24h)

Our question is, if it is possible to remember the user longer than for 24h using cookies?
