How can I fix the 'server not found' error after changing my primary domain?

Hi,

Im currently having trouble with my domain,I recently acquired a new domain for my website from shopify. I made my new domain my primary domain and now I can't seem to find the website as I continuously get a server cannot be found. I tried to switch it back to my previous domain and get the same message. I'm not sure what to do as now my website cannot be accessed anymore

How do I make my new domain my primary domain and have my old domain reroute to my new domain? I tried doing exactly this and get a server not found

Thank you for taking your questions to the Community. When you acquired the name domain, do you mean you bought the domain from Shopify? If that's the case, the new domain will automatically set itself as your store's primary domain and display to the visitors as the store URL. 

An error message of "a server cannot be found" could happen depending on the internet setup and many other reasons. Have you tried to check the browser and clear the cache to filter out the potential local factors? You may want to try connecting to the internet on cellular data other than Wi-Fi to test it out.
