How can I fix unsupported theme issue in my online store?

Hello, 

I hired someone on "fiverr" to set up my Shopify store. I'm now taking a class so that I can make sure everything on my Store is set up properly. I ran into a problem with respect to the theme, which is not supported by Shopify filters. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to pay monthly for a third party partner? Thank you.
