Hello, I am very new to the ecommerce world. I launched my site a month ago without much success unfortunately. But I noticed my site score has dropped consistently every other day. What can I do to improve my site speed without coming out of pocket any more than I have with this venture? My site is : www.aurorashoesandaccessories.com

Thank you for any assistance received!

Hello, @ASA_.

Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!

I'm delighted to see that you were able to receive some tips and suggestions from @kazi. However, it's important to note that there are factors you can control and factors you can't control when it comes to improving your online store speed

I've taken a look at your site (www.aurorashoesandaccessories.com) and it looks like there are quite a few apps trying to load on the page. Apps are one of the main factors that you can control, as they can significantly impact the page speed. For this reason, I'd suggest disabling app features that you don't use, or uninstalling apps that you don't need.

I've also ran a couple of speed tests and I'm not seeing any major performance issues, so it is possible that the drop in score that you're seeing is due to a factor that we can't control (eg. network, location, etc.). Here's a comparison of your store and Nike Canada from PageSpeed Insights:

That being said, if you'd like to explore ways of improving the page speed through coding, then you can look at implementing some of the suggestions offered by @kazi. However, if you're not comfortable working with coding languages (eg. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and liquid), then we'd encourage hiring a developer to assist you with this. If you need help finding a developer, then we'd recommend taking a look at our directory of certified developers on Shopify Experts

Do you have a marketing plan for your store? Also, would removing the "Powered by Shopify" message from the footer be something that interests you?

@ASA_ ,

Yes, I have checked your store on Page insight tool.

You need to work on your website performance’s speed. Low mobile page speed may kill your traffic and affect your conversion.

3rd party apps & codes which take time to load and their size . They decrease the speed.

Need to work on following points

  • Theme Upgrade if there is a scope and upgraded theme available
  • Reduce JS Payload.
  • Use Critical CSS .
  • Reduce Large Image Sizes
  • Compress Images
  • Limit Third Party JavaScript & Shopify Apps
  • Preload Web Fonts.
  • I would suggest limiting to one and using a standard web font.

See where exactly google speed index tools want you to target your code to optimize the site .

By fixing these issues, your website speed score can definitely improve.

And we will provide an assured guarantee plan for the website speed optimization.
