How can I improve the loading speed of my website?

How can I improve the loading speed of my website?

Hi,

When I first create the blank debut template, I remembered on Shopify page it was saying 50 someting. Now after I build the website and adding the stuff in, it becomes 19.

I have used app to reduce file sizes and uninstall a few unused apps, it seems like not helping much. Do I need to go into the code and remove the liquid of the deleted apps?

I don't know what else I could do to help improve my website speed.

could anyone help me? thanks

Hi @DELONG_HUANG

This is Richard - CRO Expert from PageFly Landing Page Builder.

I have checked your store and it seems like it was slowed down by many unused Javascript and script from 3rd app party (when I check there is an app name: Ultimate Sales Boost is dragging the speed down). I'd suggest you to do these things

- Contact the app's support live chat to get help optimizing the speed or remove it if you do not want to trade site speed for whatever being offered

- Check the facebook live chat plugin cause it is also one thing that slowdown your page

- Contact with a developer and have him helped you minimize / fix all the unused Javascript, CSS code

- Resize image

- Enable lazy load

These are some points I'd like to say. If it helps please give me a like so I know 😉

Thank you

Hi @DELONG_HUANG

I understand your confusion with the change in your Shopify Speed Score. First, I ran your homepage through the Shopify Analyzer (free analysis tool our team built). You can view your full report at https://analyze.speedboostr.com/result/fxon5nj9tj

It looks like your site could benefit from:

  1. Improved lazy loading. This is when a site waits to load images when they come into a user's view instead of trying to load all of your images at once. Here's an article we wrote on the topic that can help you out: How to Lazy Load Images on Shopify to Make Your Site Faster
  2. Compress your images and also reduce hidden images (if possible).
  3. Minify any scripts and stylesheets that allow it.

We have an optimization guide that can help you out with handling some of these recommendations: How to Optimize a Shopify Site: Complete Guide to Faster Load Speed

Beyond some common optimizations, I think it's worth noting that Shopify's Speed Tool is built on top of Google's Lighthouse engine. These tools take many other factors into consideration when generating a score, it's not just about your page's load speed. In fact, you could have a fast performing site and still have a low score.

3rd party apps also tend to have a big effect on how your score changes. Here's an article we have that goes into greater detail about Shopify's Speed Score: Shopify Speed Tool Analysis + How to Make Your Site Faster

You can also look into uninstalling any apps that aren't essential to your store. If you've previously uninstalled apps then you may want to go through your main theme files to ensure no leftover app code remains (this is a common issue).

I hope this info helps! If you need any optimization help, please feel free to reach out to our team at speedboostr.com/contact.

Quick heads up for the community - be cautious with the poster in this thread named @oscprofessional, they've been caught stealing, being unethical, and breaking Shopify terms of service on multiple occasions. (Details here if you're curious: https://speedboostr.com/shopify-partners-caught-stealing/#copyright-osc).

I assume you don't want to work with criminals and letting them access to your business / data, just giving a heads up.
