How can I increase my online store's speed?

Good morning Shopify community!

I am actively looking for ways to increase my store speed.  Currently, it is hovering around 41.  It doesn't seem to be too slow on my end, but I am curious as to what other users are experiencing when they go on my site (www.kpcollectibles.com).  I use a custom liquid to help resize the images, but my website is pretty basic outside of that.  I would greatly appreciate any tips on how to increase the speed of my online store.

You can start with Optimizing and resizing images without sacrificing quality. And you can eagerly load images above the fold.

If you are not using currency switcher then you can remove and check, it may help improve the speed. You can defer the loading of few javascript files which are not needed above the fold in order to improve the pagespeed.

Having a fast-loading site is great - but a high-converting store is much better 😉 

I completely agree with you in checking the holistic store speed, but make sure you don't go overboard with that. You're not alone!

Here are what you can do to improve your store speed:

1. Optimize images and videos

2. Install apps selectively. Do an audit of your apps periodically and remove unnecessary ones

3. Simplify your theme design by showing only relevant sections and a fair amount of products

3. Choose hero layout over sliders

4. Consider the usage of some heavy features, such as Quick-view function, Dynamic Checkout Button, etc.
