Discuss and resolve questions on Liquid, JavaScript, themes, sales channels, and site speed enhancements.
My store is called hustlerslimit.com and right now the speed is at around 28-30, I only have like 4-5 apps downloaded and they're all apps that I need, so i don't know how I can increase the speed of my store
Hello @HustlersLimit,
I am Gina from flareAI app. Hope you are having a good day.
By following below steps, you can significantly speed up your Shopify store:
1. You can compress the images for faster loading web pages without losing the image quality using a tool like TinyJPG
2. Minimize HTTP requests: Every time a page loads, it makes multiple requests for various elements such as images, scripts, and stylesheets. Minimizing these requests can help reduce the time it takes for a page to load.
3. Using slideshow, which are high-quality images combined with transitions, take time to load when the user clicks the link to the homepage. So instead you can use a single high-quality hero image.
4. Always choose a theme that is responsive, fast, and takes minimal time to load the page
If you choose a theme with numerous sliders, fancy animations, advanced navigation systems, etc., will affect your page speed. If your theme is loading slow, consider disabling the theme features you don't need.
5. Use Lazyload wherever required to reduce initial load time
6. Remove all unwanted Shopify Apps which you are not using
You should disable app features you don't use, or you can remove the app if you don't need it. If you are removing an app make sure to remove code that was added as part of the app install process.
7. Heavy use of JavaScript
If your theme or apps use a lot of JavaScript, it can slow down the cart update process.
8. You can run the Shopify Theme Inspector for Chrome to identify the lines of code that are slowing down pages in your online store.
9. Minify CSS and Javascript
Minification removes unnecessary characters, such as whitespace and comments, from your code, reducing the size of the files and improving the loading speed.
Hope this helps
Gina
Appreciate the response! Is it possible to compress all my images for free? And also how can I minimise HTTP requests, CSS and Javescript? And how do I use LazyLoad?
Hello @HustlersLimit ,
We are AliReviews - All-in-one reviews solution to all business.
1. Yes, it is possible to compress all of your images for free. Some of the online tools that you can use to compress your images include TinyPNG, Kraken.io, Compressor.io, and Optimizilla.
2. To minimize HTTP requests, CSS, and JavaScript on your Shopify store, you can take the following steps:
3. LazyLoad is a technique that allows you to defer the loading of images until they are needed. This can help to improve the loading time of your site and reduce the number of HTTP requests. To use LazyLoad on your Shopify store, you can install a LazyLoad app such as Lazyload by WP Rocket or Lazy Loading Images, or we have service that provide lazyload and optimize your page speed, you can find more details if you're interested. These apps will automatically add LazyLoad functionality to your images, so they will only be loaded when they are visible in the user's viewport. Alternatively, you can add LazyLoad functionality to your site manually by using JavaScript libraries such as LazyLoad.js or Lozad.js.
Hope these can help. If so, please hit the Like Button or mark this as Accepted Solution to let us know, it means a lot to us.
